asitrack development has ceased and the project will shut down on May 26th, 2018.
As a project manager you can easily control and supervise your development and quality assurance teams. Through a dedicated user interface you can:
- Modify your teams, including promoting or demoting users to various roles.
- Track user activity for any project manager, developer or tester.
- Analyze detailed activity reports about each developer and tester.
Only as a project manager you can create new projects or rename existing ones. You also have access to detailed project activity reports, including statistics for each developer and tester. This way you can easily determine which developer implemented the most features and which tester verified the most bugs. And this also helps you optimize bug tracking in your team by redistributing the work load.
Anyone can create a new version, but only a project manager can see detailed activity reports for it. As a manager, you can see issue statistics for each version. You can also see version activity for each user and cycle through both past and future versions.
asitrack knows that statistics and reports are not enough for a successful project manager. So you can also see activity notifications in real time. This way, if anything happens in your issue tracking system, you will know about it.
Sometimes you need to get down and dirty. Other times you simply enjoy coding a feature or testing a bug. In any case, you have full access to all the features available to developers and testers. And everything is designed for a lightweight bug tracking experience, even the extremely complex features and options.
This is why asitrack offers a dedicated user interface for developers. By using a simplified interface based only on the absolute minimum of bug tracking, asitrack allows developers to focus on what’s important: coding.
Intuitive Issues List
As a developer you see the issues organized in a tree control with the projects and versions as roots and actual issues as leaves. This is currently the most intuitive and familiar way of tracking bugs for a software company. In the issues list you can also easily identify issue types based on their icons.
Additionally, you have access to all the tree control features you love, including drag and drop, easy renaming and item expanding/collapsing.
Smart Issue Filtering
Because you don’t have time to search and organize your issues, asitrack offers built-in issue filters. This way you can easily see:
- all unresolved issues assigned to you for the current project
- all the issues you resolved in the current project
- all unresolved issues in the current project, no matter who the assignee is
- all the issues resolved in the current project, no matter who the assignee is
If you need to find a specific issue, you can also try the search feature. It will search the entire issues database for the keywords you want.
Nobody has time for loading edit forms or scanning edit fields for the exact information you want to modify. This is why asitrack has a simple and fast issue editor. When viewing issue details simply click the edit link and modify the information in place.
You also have access to numerous ways of creating new issues, including a convenient button above the issues list, the Insert key, the application menu and the issue list context menu.
Personal Activity Reports
asitrack knows that you want to become a better developer. And it wants to help you by offering statistics about your bug tracking activity. Simply select a version or a project in the issues list and you will see detailed information about your work.
Personal Real-time Notifications
Software projects are usually complex and a lot is happening everywhere. But asitrack keeps you in the loop by displaying real-time notifications about anything that interests you.
Easy Issue Management
As a tester you see the issues organized like a tree, similar to the files and folders structure on most operating systems. Projects and versions are the roots, similar to disk partitions, and actual issues are the leaves, like files and folders.
With this structure you get the natural order you are used to. And you also get all the tree control features you love, including drag and drop, easy renaming and item expanding/collapsing. For an even better experience, asitrack offers intuitive icons for projects, versions and each issue type.
asitrack minimizes the need of searching and organizing issues that need to be tested. It does all of this for you automatically through built-in issue filters. This way you can easily see:
- all untested issues in the current project
- all untested issues assigned to you in the current project
- all the issues tested and closed in the current project, no matter who tested them
- all the issues tested and closed by you in the current project
When you need to find a specific issue, simply click the magnifying glass icon to display the search box. This way you can search the entire issues database for the keywords you want.
Easy Bug Reporting
Nobody has time for loading edit forms or scanning edit fields for the exact information you want to provide. This is why asitrack has a simple and fast issue editor. Simply click the “Create Issue” button and set the details you want.
You can also report bugs or create issues by using the Insert key, the application menu and the issue list context menu.
Personal Activity Reports
Whenever you try to improve your testing skills, start by selecting a version or a project in the issues list. This will make asitrack display a personalized bug tracking activity report.
By analyzing your past activity, you can improve your future actions so you will better integrate into your team. This will lead to better contributions to the evolution of your projects.
Personal Real-time Notifications
asitrack displays real-time notifications about anything related to you or your bug tracking activity. This way you stay informed and you are always aware of the current project status.
Every professional team uses version control. And nothing works better than Subversion for complex commercial projects. So asitrack provides built-in Subversion integration with your repositories and checkouts. All working out of the box. No plugins, no additional installs and no special configurations. Only minimalism and efficiency.
Automatic commit-issue linking
Each time a developer commits something the target issue is linked to it. So everybody can easily see the bigger picture just by checking the associated issue. All done through the native support offered by Subversion.
See commits from your issue tracker
The issue user interface lists all of its Subversion commits. Revision number, commit message, author, date and even the changed files. And clicking a committed file will automatically display its changes using your favorite Subversion tools.
Software projects can easily become complex and usually a lot is happening everywhere. So it’s very easy to lose track of the project evolution. This is why asitrack keeps you in the loop through the notifications list. If anything happens in your issue tracking system, you will receive a notification about it.
asitrack does not blindly dump notifications on the entire team. Instead, it filters the notifications for each user. This way, a developer or tester will receive notifications only about issues and activity that involves them.
The notifications control is fully prepared for huge lists. Notifications are ordered chronologically, they display their creation date and you can easily filter them for a more accurate view.
Issue notifications have an extra feature. Simply select one in the notifications list and the corresponding issue will be displayed.
asitrack knows that successful development teams need feedback about their activity. The feedback allows better work balance and more focused contributions. This is why asitrack offers multiple activity reports, each one personalized for the person reading it.
asitrack displays a detailed activity report for any version in your bug tracker. This report contains personalized information tailored for the current user type. Through it, project managers can easily obtain an overview of the team activity for a specific version. Additionally, developers and testers can analyze their contributions easier so they can better balance their future activity.
Each project in asitrack displays a detailed activity report. This report contains personalized information tailored for the current user type. Through it, project managers can analyze the project evolution and which team members had the most contributions. Additionally, developers and testers can analyze their activity easier so they can better balance their future contributions.
Project managers have access to dedicated user interfaces for analyzing team activity. A manager can focus on improving a single team member or on balancing the entire team. Either way, asitrack offers the exact productivity information you need to make decisions.
asitrack is an 100% native application. Using native code it seamlessly integrates with the operating system and taps into its raw resources. This way we are making sure that you get the full processing power of your machines.
asitrack does not require a browser, email client or any other additional software. It is a complete solution which maintains the same vision and principles throughout. Simply download it, install it and use it. There is no reason for a bug tracker to be complicated or slow.
Unicode by Design
asitrack is aware of our multinational world. It was designed from the start as an Unicode application and it supports all languages. You can use any character from any language, as long as you have the appropriate fonts installed on your machine.
No Configuration Required
The complete Unicode support works out of the box and does not require any special configuration. Additionally, it works across all platforms supported by asitrack. The Microsoft Windows client application will seamlessly communicate with your Linux server in Unicode.
Everybody knows that the best way to represent an issues list is a tree control. It is the cleanest and most obvious way of displaying issue categories and sub-tasks. This is why asitrack allows you to manage your issues, versions and projects through a tree control.
From the start you can see everything you need to manage your issues. Projects, versions, issues and sub-tasks. They are all visible and can be controlled. You also have all the features you are used to: drag and drop, easy renaming, item expanding/collapsing etc. Anybody who can use a computer knows how to track bugs and issues.
A project manager does not have time to define projects and versions before being able to use them. This is why asitrack allows managers to create, rename and delete empty projects in-place.
Project versions are created automatically whenever an issue is using them. They do not need to be defined manually by a manager. Additionally, a version is automatically removed when there are no issues using it.
asitrack offers a server application for both Linux and Microsoft Windows. No matter on which platform you install your server, all asitrack clients will be able to access it through TCP/IP.
Native Client Applications
asitrack was designed from the start as a cross-platform issue tracking system. Since it is focused on maximum performance, each platform must have it’s own native client application. Because of limited development resources, currently we offer a client application only for Microsoft Windows.
But with your support, we are confident that we will be able to release Mac OS and Linux clients in the future.
Tracking bugs and features generates a lot of information very fast. This is why any good issue tracking system has a great database management system behind it. Instead of relying on external databases and SQL servers, asitrack contains everything you need to store your information. And it works automatically out of the box.
You don’t need to install, configure or manage a database. asitrack does all of this for you automatically.
asitrack knows that you don’t have time to wait for loading forms and lists. This is why it is focused on processing speed and performance. It is also the reason it integrates a native database management system: SQLite. Only with native database queries your issue tracker will get the full processing power of your machines.
